Founded in Stockholm in 2023 by Daniel Ek and Hjalmar Nilsonne, the company has built a waitlist of more than 350,000 people in under three years. Over 100,000 have already completed the preventive scan at the core of its business model.

How the Scan Works

The Neko Health Scan takes 60 minutes in the UK. It is non-invasive and uses no radiation. The check-up covers four pillars: skin is mapped with more than 2,000 high-resolution images to detect moles and thermal anomalies; the cardiovascular system is assessed by combining electrocardiogram readings, arterial analysis, and laser vibrometry; an on-site blood test measures cholesterol, blood sugar, and inflammation markers; body composition is analyzed by measuring visceral fat.

The data collected is processed in real time and reviewed by a physician during the same visit. The system also integrates data from wearables like Apple Health, cross-referencing clinical results with the user's sleep, movement, and recovery patterns.

Clinical Results and Adoption

In 2024, the Stockholm location alone recorded 4,362 scans, uncovering 54 potentially life-threatening conditions previously unknown to patients. Globally, Neko Health states that 1% of users received potentially life-saving clinical information, and three out of four patients with serious conditions detected are now under control or cured.

The retention rate confirms adoption of the service: 75% of members book their next year's scan before their first visit concludes.

Expansion Plans

With the capital raised, Neko Health will open its first New York location by the end of 2026, adding a third market to its network of eight centers already operating in Sweden and the UK. The US entry marks the first test of the model outside the European context, aiming to scale diagnostic capacity to a broader user base.
